Chief Human Resources Officer
The C-suite role responsible for talent strategy, organizational culture, compensation, and people operations across the company.
Roles & FoundationHR & People
When you'd see it: Executive teams, org design, compensation strategy, and culture decisions. The CHRO owns people strategy.
Why it matters: The CHRO is the executive accountable for hiring, retention, comp, and culture at the strategy level. In people-heavy businesses the role sits very close to the CEO, because talent is the binding constraint.
Common mistakes: Treating the CHRO as senior HR admin. At the executive level the job is workforce strategy, not processing paperwork.
