When you'd see it: Daily on most Agile teams. The classic format is three questions: what I did, what I'm doing next, and what is blocking me.
Why it matters: Done well, the standup surfaces blockers fast. Done badly, it becomes a status report to a manager that could have been a message.
Common mistakes: Turning the standup into problem-solving or a status update for the boss. Blockers get named in the standup and solved after it.
