Scrum

An Agile framework that organizes work into fixed-length sprints with defined roles (Product Owner, Scrum Master, team) and ceremonies (planning, daily standup, review, retrospective).

When you'd see it: The default framework on most software teams. You will hear 'sprint,' 'backlog,' 'standup,' and 'retro' on any Scrum team.

Why it matters: Scrum gives a team a repeatable cadence and clear roles. The structure is both the value and the risk: it adds overhead that small or fast-moving teams sometimes do not need.

Common mistakes: Adding the ceremonies without a real Product Owner or a groomed backlog. Without those, Scrum becomes meetings without direction.
